Able to speak better after losing weight? Is this a thing?
I had a crisp voice and clear pronunciation up until the age of 19. I then developed a kind of lisp, it felt like I always had too much saliva in my mouth and I couldn't end sentences properly, I would trail off and struggle to pronounce the last syllable. It wasn't noticeable to others but it certainly was to me. My confidence when speaking has been low ever since.
2 things were happening at that time - I was piling weight on, and I started on an antidepressant. I came off the AD several months later, but the lisp remained. The weight also remained until recently.
This whole time I've been blaming the ADs, but since losing weight I can speak more clearly! I don't have the lisp anymore and my confidence is growing.
Is this even a thing? I can't imagine we gain much fat inside our mouths.
