Fatburger Expands Vegan Cheeseburger to All Locations Nationwide
Starting on November 1, fast-food chain Fatburger will add a vegan cheeseburger to all of its 78 locations across the United States. In May, the chain first tested the burger—made with Daiya Foods’ vegan cheddar cheese and Impossible Foods’ plant-based patty and served on a vegan bun—at nine locations in Los Angeles. “After our successful test run in our hometown, Los Angeles, we are thrilled to offer our Fatburger fans around the US a 100-percent plant-based cheeseburger,” Andy Wiederhorn, CEO of Fatburger parent company FAT Brands, said. “We love incorporating today’s trends with Fatburger’s traditional fare so consumers can enjoy the Fatburger they know and love, with a dairy-free twist. With the addition of the Daiya slices to our ever-going dairy-free menu we are able to reach a larger fan base, and we can’t wait to see how consumers across the country react to our new plant-based offerings.” To celebrate World Vegan Day, Fatburger will offer a free slice of Daiya cheese on any purchase of a burger or sandwich on November 1. In addition to its new burger option, Fatburger debuted a vegan milkshake (in strawberry and vanilla flavors) earlier this month at its Southern California locations.
