Ben & Jerry’s Launches Vegan Crème Brûlée and Mint Cookie Ice Creams Made from Sunflower Butter

Ben & Jerry’s newest vegan ice cream flavors made with a base of sunflower butter will begin hitting scoop shops and retailers nationwide this week. The three new additions to Ben & Jerry’s growing non-dairy line are: “Milk” & Cookies (vanilla ice cream with chocolate chip cookies, chocolate sandwich cookies, and chocolate cookie swirls); Crème Brûlée Cookie (burnt caramel ice cream with brown sugar cookies and salted caramel swirls); and Mint Chocolate Cookie (mint ice cream with chocolate sandwich cookies). Additionally, vegan flavor Cold Brew Coffee Fudge Chip (a cold brew ice cream with fudge flakes and a fudge swirl) will be available exclusively at Ben & Jerry’s scoop shops nationwide. “Plant-based eating is one of the biggest trends in the world and ice cream lovers everywhere have shouted for non-dairy/vegan options that rise to the levels of Ben & Jerry’s euphoric awesomeness,” Ben & Jerry’s CEO Matthew McCarthy said. “I am over-the-moon excited that our Flavor Gurus have churned out something funky and chunky that is nothing short of spectacular.” In 2016, Ben & Jerry’s launched its first non-dairy options, made with almond milk, and with its most recent expansion—including this month’s release of the non-dairy Netflix & Chilll’d flavor—the brand now offers 17 vegan flavors, which make up more than 25 percent of its total product line. This spring, Ben & Jerry’s will also release a new single-serving cup format of its non-dairy P.B. & Cookies flavor and launch Caramel Chocolate Chunk—another almond milk-based flavor which features fudge chips & a salted caramel swirl—exclusively in a mini-cup form.
